Ford has released first details of the new C-Max which will debut at Frankfurt
Ford has released some detail of the new C-Max, which is the first car from Ford to use the next generation Ford Focus platform, and will come as either a five or seven seat car. Not only will the new C-Segment platform be used here in the C-Max, but it will also see use in not just the next generation Focus, but also in the eventual replacement for the Ford Kuga. The C-Max will very sensibly stick with the multi-link rear suspension that has given the current generation Focus such great driving dynamics, and it will also feature Ford’s 1.6 litre Ecoboost engine, which is equipped with a turbo and direct injection for improved economy and efficiency.
Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge concept revealed ahead of Detroit
If you’re pumping big bucks in to F1 – as Infiniti are with Red Bull – then you want to make sure you get a return in the form of road car sales. Which is why we’re getting the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge concept, heading for a debut at the Detroit Auto Show this month. Teased with a front view last month, the Q50 Eau Rouge gets a complete body makeover – inspired, of course, by Infiniti’s F1 Aerodynamics with Red Bull – which makes the Q50 both lower and wider than the standard model and gets a carbon fibre front splitter, rear diffuser and side skirts.

Lexus today issued a sneak peak at its new Premium Compact Concept ready to make its public debut at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show in mid-September.Think BMW 1-series by Lexus, and you'll get the idea. Not that you'd know too much from the solitary teaser sketch released today.Details are vague at present, with only the above sketch and no technical information available to showcase the long-awaited little Lexus. Expect more details and pictures to be announced in a few weeks' time – but we hear there is likely to be hybrid power for the compact premium car.
